Unblocking Showers and Baths

The Problem

Typically shower and bath waste pipes are hidden from view with very little access available which can present a problem for pipe cleaning. While some blockages are located in the shower trap, others are located further down the pipe requiring specialist electro-mechanical equipment.

Equipment

Drain Master emergency drain cleaning units are all equipped with electro-mechanical equipment for the freeing of blockages in small diameter pipework such as sink, shower or bath drains. A rotating steel cable is manoeuvred through the pipe and breaks up the blockage as it passes back and forth.

Training

Equipment for cleaning shower drains can be dangerous and require specialist training and personal protective equipment to use safely. Drain Master service engineers have all carried out extensive training in the safe and effective use of this equipment

Use of chemicals

Drain Master do not recommend the use of chemicals for the breaking up of blockages in your drains. These products can be hazardous and require great care in handling. If you have tried using one of these products prior to calling in the drainage experts, please let us know as it may be important for the safety of our personnel.

The majority of the drainage system is hidden from view under the ground and the only way to thoroughly check its condition is with a CCTV survey. We strongly advise that a full house survey be carried out prior to purchasing any property so that there are no nasty and expensive surprises at a later point.
